Tidepool 1 and students Students checking Salinity and Temperature This file has been started to present some of the information we have acumulated on the pool in order to stimulate students to raise further questions and devise problems that can be investigated at the pool. It is also intended to be part of a cumulative digital legacy that those examining the pool can pass on to future students.

Some ideas to consider:

This is a small pool, near peg 6, which is perched at ahigher level than those in the area. It differs in that it is only refreshed by salt spray as it is at least a meter above the highest tidal level. In late spring, the pool is green with the single celled euglenoids that inhabit the high tidepools. Seasonal changes in this pool are very much more pronounced than in the lower pools. In the winter is usually very brackish with the effect of rain water.
