ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: In this activity there is the opportunity for students to be engaged in a hands-on fashion with the entire operation at Race Rocks. Race Rocks has become an exciting centre to study various techniques in maintaining an ecological diverse site while allowing people from all over the world to enjoy and research its rich animal habitat. Students make visits to Race Rocks in order to take data in various forms (audio-visual, scientific, etc.) . The analysis of this data and other data being taken via remote sensing and making it available on the website in a way that best brings across the ecological values of the islands is the goal. A lot of effort continues to be put in the Race Rocks website, http://www.racerocks.com , for the purpose of educational outreach.

Sharing of data forms a cornerstone of the project. Prior computer experience is recommended, particular in the areas of movie and photo editing and website design. This is a great avenue to combine your creativity with computer skills in bringing the richness of Race Rocks to the world.
