Find and Filter
You will be separated into groups of two to
gather information about each of the stakeholders. Go to the Great Debate Background Sheet to find out what you client
you will be representing in the Great Debate. Go to Activity Sheet A to find out about the District of Metchosin
and Marine Protected Areas. Once you have located your client,
use Activity Sheet B and the suggested
links on the stakeholders webpages to gather information about
your client and their needs. Answering the activity sheet questions
will prepare you for your debate.
Communicate
You will represent your client at the Great
Debate, which will determine the outcome of William Head. Dress
the part! Come in clothing that is typical wear for your client.
For instance, MegaBucks Inc. people should be wearing office
clothing. Fishers may wear fishing tackle and hats etc. You will
have a limited amount of time and pictures are worth a thousand
words, so use them in your presentation. You will be expected
to present your information using poster boards, Powerpoint or
another presentation format. Take pictures from the websites
you have visited to highlight your presentation and make it look
engaging and professional.
Reflection
Consider the secret ballot. What factors or
information did you think about when deciding if William Head
should become a Marine Protected Area?
