Instructions: The following two sections consider the advantages and disadvantages of making William Head a Marine Protected Area versus allowing the building of the MegaBucks hotel.  Each stakeholder has their own webpage with links to information about them. Fill in the answers by going to the home pages above and gathering information. Take into account your client's perspective when answering the questions. This will prepare you for the debate.

If you have time, consider the perspective of the other groups, specifically the ones that you expect opposition from. Come up with arguments that you think would counter any points in their favour. For instance, the Metchosin people may argue that the increase in taxes from the hotel would be good for fixing up the town. However, it may also increase property taxes all over the district and be more expensive to build there and increase traffic. This would mean that more district money would have to be spent on road maintenance.
