A probe with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler in the water and a GPS antenna on the top is strapped to Second Nature for 11 transects done throughout the tidal cycle at Race Rocks ASL Environmental Services of Sidney, BC. plots a 3 dimensional survey of the water column in order to help in the modelling of the currents. Rick Birch does the logging on a computer for the three dimensional analysis of the current profile

Mike Tarbotten and Max Larson of TRITON are working with us to help find the optimal location for the current meter. Modelling of the underwater terrain and the predicted current flows gives us an indication of sites to target. The procedure involved driving the vessel Second Nature in a pre-determined grid over two potential sites for the installation of the Tidal Generator. Chris Blondeau uses the computer generated image to guide the boat through the transects of the area. The Projected Current locations from preliminary data..
