April 18- Apr 20/ 2005 Divers test the substrate for the best location:
On Monday Apr 18/05- Wednesday April 20, a dive team from Can-Pac Divers surveyed two of the potential locations. The first location is approximately 100 m NW of the dock The second location is approx. 400 m NW, near North Race Rock. These 2 locations have been previously identified as areas of high current flow.
The Can-Pac Diver team Alan suiting up for a dive Brian securing the hoses on Alan's suit. Final adjustments.
Descent to the prospective site. Intake for water pump .Chris Blondeau and Brian Stevenson checking on the diver. The console where underwater video and sound are monitored.
By the end of each dive the current has increased and the diver is hauled back on board. Brian and the coils of hoses, cords and lines for the work, Air tanks aboard Second Nature Space is at a minimum on the vessel.

The information from these dives was reviewed to confirm the suitability of substrate at the potential sites. These dives took place around the mid-morning and/or the late afternoon slacks.

This information was then reviewed in combination with information already gathered in order to make a final decision on the turbine location.

Angie and Rita come aboard Second Nature after their Dive installing the ADCP Unit on the same day the CanPac Divers were checking out location 2. Brian demonstrates the commercial diving equipment... Rita dons the helmet.. A new view of the world..
