Whereas many web content-providers are concerned about how they can develop encryption devices to prevent people downloading their video content from the internet, we are encouraging people to do just that in order to help capture the rare moments that occur when cameras are focused in the natural environment. Often the best video clips may be captured when few people are watching, providing unique glimpses of behaviours of marine birds and mammals.
We would welcome hearing from anyone who has tried this technique and may be able to send us a copy of the video so that we can include it as streaming video in our archives. First you will have to save it as a compressed Quick Time movie using any of the software available to do this and then e-mail as an attachment to Garry Fletcher
Our thanks to Ron Gibbs at the QuickTime Live Conference in October 2000 for the following suggestions of two possible ways of capturing the Live Quick Time Videos that you can see on cameras 1,2,3 or 4. We welcome any other ideas on how to capture the live videos.
