In an attempt to keep track of who's who on the elephant seal scene at Race Rocks, I have put together this file on January 31 2009.
A record of the past elephant seal population at Race Rocks may be determined from this file with occurences from our observations
of the past few years.

The female on the left which just had the pup we will call female1( Bertha) Mike Slater named this male Misery because he was always in a bad mood compared to the more docile Slash. Misery has been giving female#1 a hard time since the birth, here seen raising and striking her. See this file for the injuries he sustained when driven off the island by Slash in 2009 These three individuals were on the middle island on Jan 30/09. Their individual closeups are below;

This is female# 2 also only out on middle island This is male# 2. He is slighly smaller than Slash and much thinner and he stays out on middle island. This file links to Scarlet, the one with the cut neck.She has been around Race Rocks since 2004 and had a pup in 2009 and 2010.

Above is "Slash". He is the most regular resident of the island. Not here today but was here most of last year except for a time in November.
