A diagram of the Planned Overall System Monitoring at Race Rocks |
OVERALL MONITORING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
1) Monitor load power to island loads (x 3)
2) Monitor solar system- power delivered to batteries (x4)
3) Monitor charge/input power from tidal turbine and diesel generators through rectifier system
4) Monitor total power flow (cycling power) to/from battery bank
5) Provide an interactive web interface and data logging capabilities for all system components
|
POTENTIAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS
o (1x) Master communication module (Labview) with web interface and data logging capabilities. NOTE: PC will need 485 comm bus. (or equivalent)
o (3x) Slave communication modules (slave board 1-3) monitoring AC/DC voltages and currents in (3x) inverters to measure inverter efficiency and power consumption to island loads.
o (1x) Slave communication module (slave board 4) monitoring battery bank voltage and current and XDC voltage and current.
o (1x) Slave communication module (slave board 5) monitoring all (x4) solar charger currents and bus voltage.
