 Zooanthid anemones are rather limited in distribution at Race Rocks. This short video taken by the divers shows a close up view, showing the density of the colony. They are a rather primitive looking, small anemone, usually located near the base of an underwater cliff or an overhanging ledge. Surprizingly, the same species, always in colonies, can be found on Weir Point at the exit from nearby Pedder Bay in very shallow water ( 3-5 meters.) |
