CORRELATIONS FILE: This file of raw data is being set up with regular additions that have been selected to show seasonal patterns and to allow some study of the relationships between the two factors of solar radiation and uv radiation
Objectives: After doing this assignment, you will be able to:
2. Analyze the correlations between the factors presented..
Procedure:
1.Use the graphs below for a qualitative estimation of the relationship between Solar radation and UV in different seasons of the year.
You may get raw data from the following URL:
http://www.victoriaweather.ca/stations/RaceRocks/RaceRocks.day.solar.dat
Substitute week or month for day in that URL to get the other time periods and uv for solar to get the uv data. Here is a list of the other data files that are available using the same method:
[RaceRocks]$ ls *.dat
RaceRocks.day.barometer.dat
RaceRocks.month.temperature.dat
RaceRocks.day.humidity.dat
RaceRocks.month.uv.dat
RaceRocks.day.rainrate.dat
RaceRocks.month.wind.dat
RaceRocks.month.winddir.dat
RaceRocks.day.solar.dat
RaceRocks.month.windgust.dat
RaceRocks.day.temperature.dat
RaceRocks.week.barometer.dat
RaceRocks.day.uv.dat
RaceRocks.week.humidity.dat
RaceRocks.day.wind.dat
RaceRocks.week.rainrate.dat
RaceRocks.day.winddir.dat
RaceRocks.week.raintotal.dat
RaceRocks.day.windgust.dat
RaceRocks.week.solar.dat
RaceRocks.month.barometer.dat
RaceRocks.week.temperature.dat
RaceRocks.month.humidity.dat
RaceRocks.week.uv.dat
RaceRocks.month.rainrate.dat
RaceRocks.week.wind.dat
RaceRocks.month.raintotal.dat
RaceRocks.week.winddir.dat
RaceRocks.month.solar.dat
RaceRocks.week.windgust.dat
If you select all from the html file and save as a text file then you use the "get external data"option in Open Office or in EXCEL., and import it into the excel file...
Also, be sure to note that the scales of the graphs adjust automatically depending on the range of the factor being measured.
